Fishing at it's Best
The French River is famous as being one of the best rivers for fishing. Whether you tote a fly or spinning rod, still-fish or troll, returning fishermen will assure you of a handsome catch. Walleye and Northern Pike are accessible when the season opens on the 3rd Saturday in May. The Muskie season opens the 1st Saturday of June. Large and Small Mouth Bass also inhabit the surrounding waters of the French River and the season opens the last Saturday in June. Numerous bass lakes encompass the camp and may be accessed by short portages.
A fish-cleaning house complete with screened windows, sinks, and electricity is provided to ensure a sanitary and clean environment for the guests at Presqu'ile Cottages.
Gas is available at the main dock.
Winter Activities
The whole family will enjoy the winter recreational playground offered at Presqu'ile. Outdoor activities include cross-country skiing, skating, snowshoeing, or renting an ice hut and fish in style.
We are located along the snowmobile trail "FD 702" at top of Rangers Bay. Take in the beautiful scenery along the trails and take a ride out to the new suspension bridge along Hwy 69.
A downhill slide is available for fun on a snowboard, toboggan, or crazy carpet.
As a relaxing alternative to these winter activities, you can opt for sight-seeing or simply relax in one of our winterized housekeeping cottages.
